LATEST UPDATE : 27 MARCH 2020
With New Zealand now at Level 4 Alert in the fight against COVID -19, the country is in lockdown and our store is temporarily CLOSED until restrictions are lifted.
We urge everyone to stay calm, stay strong and most importantly STAY AT HOME.
Respect the rules and the authorities which have been put in place to SAVE LIVES and only follow real advice from trusted sources.
Let’s show the world we can do this.
24 March 2020
With the Government today moving the COVID-19 Alert to Level 3, ready for transition to Level 4, E Hayes are currently in preparation mode for the next 48 hours.
Our team is working through these changes and what this will mean for us and you, however at this point in time our store is OPEN AS NORMAL until at least 5.30pm Tuesday 24 March and our team is here to support you with your essential home hardware supplies.
When the country moves to Level 4, our services will likely change according to the government directive and we will update you as soon as possible as to what that will actually look like.
In the meantime, please be assured that we are continuing to take every precaution to ensure continuation of supply, supported by stringent hygiene practices and protocols to ensure your safety.
These are indeed difficult and uncertain times but we must always remember that the actions we take today - will shape the world we will live in tomorrow.
Be kind. Be caring. Be strong. Unite Against COVID 19
A message from our Managing Director, Neville Hayes
17 March 2020
In light of the current, fast-moving events regarding the spread of the COVID-19 virus I wanted to personally let you know of the steps E Hayes are taking to ensure the continued health, safety and well-being of our team, customers, suppliers and everyone who visits or interacts with our store.
We are closely monitoring and following the guidance and advice of the Ministry of Health and New Zealand Government regarding controlling and minimising the spread of the virus. Our focus is to ensure we continue to meet our customer needs while doing our part to keep our customers, employees, suppliers and our communities safe.
To ensure a comfortable and safe visit we have introduced additional safety precautions around our store during this challenging time.
- We are thoroughly and frequently cleaning our store facilities and touch points with recommended sanitizing products.
- We have positioned a number of hand sanitizer bottles and packets of disinfectant wipes for self service at our checkout service counters which we encourage visitors to use during their time in store.
- We have positioned signage at all entry points asking people to NOT TO ENTER or remain in store if they are unwell.
In addition, we are taking steps to ensure the welfare of our employees including instructing any who feel ill or show symptoms of illness to stay home and consult their healthcare providers. We are also urging all employees to be vigilant about frequent and thorough hand washing.
With respect, we ask any person who is feeling unwell, sneezing, coughing or experiencing flu-like symptoms NOT TO ENTER OR REMAIN IN STORE.
If you are feeling unwell, telephone the free Healthline on 0800 358 5453 or contact your doctor for advice.
We know our hospitality is an important part of the way our customers shop with us and we want to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to keep you and our store, healthy and safe to visit.
