  4. Inwards Goods

Inwards Goods Coordinator

Posted : 20 December 2025

Inwards Goods is the engine room of our business, and we’re looking for someone sharp, organised, and switched on to keep it running smoothly.

Inwards Goods is a critical control point in our business. What comes in, how it’s recorded, and how quickly it moves through the system directly affects stock availability, pricing integrity, customer satisfaction, and the smooth operation of every department downstream.

Reporting to the Admin & Operations Manager, you will take ownership of all incoming stock from our suppliers. Your job is to ensure every delivery is:

  • Physically checked, correctly receipted and correctly priced
  • Accurately entered into our computerised inventory system
  • Released promptly and efficiently to the shop floor
  •

Errors here ripple through the business. Getting it right the first-time matters - we’re not interested in “close enough”.

This is a full-time, hands-on role, predominantly Monday to Friday (30-35 hours per week), with some weekend work required during peak trading periods.

You must hold a full driver’s licence and be able to obtain a forklift licence if you don’t already have one. Forklift use is a regular part of unloading and loading stock.

What this role demands This is a busy, physical, and detail-heavy role. You’ll be juggling deliveries, systems, stock flow, and communication - often at the same time - while maintaining a calm, methodical approach.

Accuracy is non-negotiable, for:

  • Strong organisation and planning
  • Clear, proactive communication
  • The discipline to follow processes every time, not just when it’s convenient
  • The ability to spot errors, discrepancies, and potential issues before they become problems

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accurate receipting and computer processing of all incoming stock
  • Coordinating stock movements from receiving through to shelf-ready
  • Assisting with unloading and internal stock movement, including forklift operation
  • Maintaining high standards, order, and discipline in the Inwards Goods area
  • Managing issues as they arise, with open communication and a solutions-focused mindset
  • Supporting a high level of customer service by ensuring stock accuracy and availability

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven attention to detail and a methodical working style
  • Experience in warehousing and/or inventory management ( this is a major advantage)
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team
  • Strong computer skills and confidence working with inventory systems
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Physically fit - heavy lifting, prolonged standing, ladder use, and active work are part of the job
  • A sharp, alert mind with the ability to adapt and manage a varied, fast-paced workload
  • A strong customer service ethos and pride in doing the job properly

Applicants must hold permanent work rights for eligibility to work in New Zealand.

If you want a role where precision matters, where your work has a visible impact, and where getting the details right is genuinely valued - this could be for you.
